I'm choosing Beautycounter
I can be a bit of a hypochondriac at times...Sometimes the motto "Out of sight out of mind" is the best thing for me.But things are no longer out of sight. It seems eery where I look, there is someone speaking about the dangers of all the products I grew up with and have become staples in my house. Or when I reach for my go to product at the store, there is a fragrance free option next to it.I honestly remember thinking at one time, "Why would I want something Fragrance free?" Sometimes that is literally the point of the product. To smell good. I had no idea it was so much more than that.It wasn't until I started to take the few extra seconds to listen, did I realize all of my favorite products are actually very harmful to me. It's incredibly infuriating that these products are even available to us.Now, as a mother, it's my responsibility to be aware. I can't be so naive.I genuinely have this fear I am going to die of breast cancer, just as my grandmother did at the young age of 54! Not only does cancer run in my family but I am now doubling my chances, by continuing to use some of everyday products. That's not a risk I am willing to take any longer. So I decided to make a change with Beautycounter.I chose Beautycounter because it offered more than just Makeup. It offers skin care, makeup, hair products, sunscreen, etc. Of course, Makeup is where I started. Replacing products as I run low.
WHAT I PICKED
Knowing where to start was a little overwhelming so I first started with the "Flawless Five" collection. I think there was a sale or deal at the time. I do not use all of these products quite yet. When I tried the Foundation and concealer, my face had a reaction. I'm not sure if it's just not for me or if its because I'm pregnant. Either way, I am holding off on those for now to try again after pregnancy. But now I want to get started on my kids.
$150
Today I purchased Beautycounter's Kids Bath Collection and the Countersun Mineral Sunscreen Stick. I can't wait to try these products out and see how well my kids respond to them. Even if I can't see a difference, I will at least have piece of mind.

Have you switched to safer products? If so, what did you start with? Was it household products? Skin care? Or something else?Is anyone already using Beautycounter products?I would love to hear about other people's journey switching to safer products and why they did it. What did you start with? Did you do it gradually or replace it all at once?I am honestly eager to learn more. It can be scary sometimes but honestly I think the unknown scares me way more. What's brewing within my body, underneath my skin that I can't see? It's not going to be easy or a fast change, considering almost everything in my house is "dangerous" but I'm willing and eager to get started. Are you?
