The Best Birthday Gift
I am so excited to share with you all what we think is the best birthday gift to give our friends. We have now given this gift out at a few birthday parties and it has been a major hit. Not only is it a hit with the kids but I know it will be a hit with the parents when they see how budget friendly this gift is.
When we recently gifted this at a party of course our gift was the last gift he opened. I was a little stressed seeing all the awesome gifts he was receiving. And then I saw him open the Kinetic Castle set. CRAP I thought. He quickly tossed it to the side and finally got to our gift. As soon as he unwrapped it, all the kids got on their feet, ooooh'd and aaaawwww'd and immediately started to play with it. It was an instant hit because the kids could immediately see everything on display and how it was intended to be played with.
We got this gift idea from a mixture of my sister and the company Young Wild and Friedman. Young Wild and Friedman is a fantastic business that creates these AMAZING sensory boxes. I already purchased two for my kids for Christmas. Unfortunately they aren't exactly budget friendly for a friend's birthday party. So I thought to myself why don't we make our own. My sister once gave Emma a birthday gift similar to this. She purchased Kinetic sand and poured it into a container and threw some utensils in it to play with. My kids LOVE it. So I combined the two ideas.
The kids and I headed to Walmart to grab our supplies. Lucky us two of the supplies were down the same aisle (aisle H29) so we were in and out in no time.
(Be sure to price match the Kinetic sand at checkout. It's usually a couple of dollars cheaper on their online site)
These fun packs are only 3 dollars!
So far we have done each of these packs except for the Military playset.
Next all we have left to buy is the locked container in aisle I31. I like to pick a shallow container so they can keep the sand in the container and still be able to play in it without having to awkwardly reach in.
Now for the fun part! Head home and put it together.
Pour the sand into container
Spread the sand out

Let your kid help. Charlie had so much fun placing all of the animals in the sand. It also gave him a sense of pride knowing he helped put his friend's gift together.
