I thought it was going to be the worst newborn session ever...|Des Moines Newborn Photographer

I have found the sweet spot to photographing newborns is around day 5 of life. Of course if mom and baby are healthy and well. The babies are still super sleepy, super curely and make sessions a breeze. I wasn't able to photograph sweet Theo until he was 19 days old!! I was so nervous he was going to be awake for the whole session, crying because he would want to eat the whole time, because usually they are having a growth spurt around then. But this session turned out to be the best session I have ever photographed. Theo was a dream. He let me pose him in any pose I wanted and didn't have a single accident. I couldn't have asked for a better turn out.
